So, today my parents and I went into town. The train was packed and we managed to battle to seats and found ourselves surrounded by a cavalry of rather nervous trainee train guards who were busy trying to memorise lists about the stations. We stopped at one of the stations and one of them said "Hey, there's a film crew." The doors open and we see a ( Read more... )

I like season three, it's got Faith and the Mayor and Angel leaves (finally!) and Buffy graduates High School (!) and gets the Class Protector award (that always makes me tear up, especially since it's Jonathan presenting it to her).

I like all of those bits of Season Three. There's loads of individual bits that I love and loads of episodes that are fun. But just overall, Season Three leaves me vaguely ... bleh. While re-watching, I'm doing my best to work out why - part of it is definietely the relationship dynamics which upset me in this season. Bits of it just drag for me and depress me and piss me off and so my overall feeling for the Season is just ... ugh.

But the Mayor! The Mayor is lovely! And Faith kicks ASS. And it has Band Candy which rules! Good points. Must focus on good points. :)

It's been a while since I've seen the entire show, but I love seasons 1-3, and 7, and am very meh about 4, 5 and 6. Same with Angel, I liked 1 and 2, when they were still the agency, then when they moved to the hotel and stopped taking jobs on and the whole baby/connor thing....eh, and don't get me started on season 5. Must concentrate on Lorne, Spike and Doyle.

I love Seasons 1 and 2, am apparently very meh about Season 3, enjoyed Seasons 4 and 5 and liked Seasons 6 and 7 but have only seen them once so it's a bit "... that was good that one time, I seem to recall ... wait, I don't remember that bit!" Hence the excitement of re-watching and finding out! :)

Not seen most of Angel actually. I saw Seasons 1 and 2 and ... chunks of Season three. Never saw most of 4 or 5 though. Doyle! I love Doyle!

I do agree with your recent post though, not the best season, overall, but I tend to forgive it that, just for giving us Faith, the Mayor for the Big Bad, and the entire Graduation, that was an awesome episode, one of the best, if only for them all pulling their robes off, to reveal them all armed with crossbows and swords and shit, it was a Crowning Moment of Awesome, as well as the Prom award. Whereas, season 4 we got Adam. He was a lot less scary and impressive and stuff than any of the other Big Bads, for all his potiential. Doesn't help he was beaten in the penultimate episode and then there was a whole random dream episode next. Even a housemate, who's girlfriend got him to watch, his comment on season four was about that, and he was slightly baffled.

I think my main issues with Angel was that I found the main character really dull and uninteresting, and Cordy was fun, when she was being a bitch (the episode with the ghost and the house? Probably one of my favourites in the whole series), Doyle was <3, Weasly was amusing when ( ... )
