So, the Emmys. Not interesting (if you like Modern Family, well, god love ya, but no). The only thing I'd like to see is Bobby Cannavale win for supporting. He's somebody I've seen pop up in the most unexpected places. At first sight he looks like a big slice of New York City homeboy, but he chosen to do against-type roles and I always enjoy his work.
In other tv musings, a local PBS station has British mysteries on Friday. I watch devotedly, even though they're not necessarily NEW British mysteries. But now they're showing the Dalziel-Pascoe series which I consider an abomination. The producers got everything WRONG. wrongwrongwrong, and so forth.
But in cheerier news, I discovered that another PBS station is back and showing their international detective shows. (This is an odd thing about the station which was sold and disappeared and now seems to be resurrected on a new channel. Is it back for good? Odd.)Anyway, Detective Montalbano is on. It's in Italian, so I can't do much needlework because I have to read the subtitles and I've seen most of the episodes, but still better than that Dalziel/Pascoe fiasco. Yes.
