So I was at work (technically I still am), and I got switched to concessions for the night. That was slightly disappointing, but since it's a slow Saturday, it wasn't all that bad. A girl came up to me in the middle of the shift and said to me,
"Hi, I know you don't remember me, but I was that girl last week who asked you for a cup of water. "
I nodded.
"Yeah, thank you for that. Turns out I had food poisoning and it really saved my life."
I blinked.
"So yeah, even though you broke the rules, thank you again."
I felt perplexed. "You're welcome."
I vaguely remember her, but she appeared so different. Sporting a flirty dress tonight with matching heels, date in arm, yet the other night, she was wrapped up like an eskimo, alone, about to keel over. [why wouldn't I give her water?]
It's nice though, to think that sometime around people will say thank you. At the time I didn't think much of it. It's just a cup of water right?
Somesdays I guess it's just that much more.
