I have been thinking a lot about where I see myself in the next five years and what I would like to achieve during that time. I decided I will remain with my current company for at least two years, getting trained and developed in marketing and business development. During this time, I will be studying for my GMAT's. I have to rely heavily on my GMAT scores to help me get my foot through the door with the MBA programs I want to get into.
But the question is do I do a full time MBA or a part time MBA? If I do a part time MBA program, I can ensure that I will still have a job at the end of my graduation. I can also make sure that I am not in an exorbitant amount of debt with the student loans I will require to get to pay for tuition. But by doing the program part time, I do not get to focus as much on the course material and get as much as I can out of the program and the professors. It'll be very much like what it was for me when I went through undergraduate. I didn't feel that I got the most out of my education because I had to work throughout the entire thing.
If I decide to do the full time MBA program, I will be able to focus solely on learning everything I can on the materials and truly benefit from the experience. I will be able to get a better job after graduation with a higher salary and more benefits, depending on the prestige and intensity of the program that I select.
My friends from Olympia keep telling me to not worry about finding a job after college. With the right program, I will be able to find a job with ease. Also, they keep reminding me I have no reason to worry about finding a job because I have always been able to find a job or internship. I also network like crazy so I should have no worries when it comes to being able to be connected to the right people to help me find a job.
After speaking with the guys about this today, I feel like I might be leaning more towards a full time MBA program. If all goes well and in my favor, I'll be moving to San Francisco!!!
