so i have been dating a for apparently a month now. people have been calling him my bf. i think he is nowhere near being my bf and here's my reason why. seriously, if barney stinson can see me now, i'd totally be in line for being his wingwoman.
in how i met your mother, barney wanted to start a craze called the lemon law. it is this law where you go on a date with a person. within the first five minutes, you will be able to determine immediately if there will be a second date or not. if there will be a second date, then it's all gravy from that point on. the date goes on.
however, if there is no possibility of a second date, then the person call lemon law the other person. this allows them to walk away from the date with no harsh feelings.
well, i decided to come up with a name for my own policy that i practice. i tend to give the guys that i date three months before i enact what i would like to call the refund policy. whenever you purchase an item from a retail store, you're given a period of 30, 60, or 90 days to have the merchandise in your possession. during this time period, you pretty much use and abuse the product. if you like it, then you keep it. if you don't like it, then you are allowed to return it and get your money back. no questions asked.
i never call a guy my boyfriend until he makes it past the 90 day grace period. most guys rarely make it past 90 days. hell, some guys don't even make it past the first date. (wish i knew of the lemon law sooner. would have saved me from a lot of grief from terrible dates.) anyways, i want to enact the refund policy with a. after being with him for 30+ days, i realize that i am not happy with my purchase. i think i should be able to drop kick him and not have any repercussions with it. we are still in the getting to know you phase of dating. this is the time period where each party has the right to jump ship whenever they are getting sick of the ride.
