1. Assuming there's no other reason I wouldn't want to work there, and 2. Assuming they had treated me fairly with the layoff and not acted like flaming jerkbags, and 3. Assuming they were hiring me back to an equivalent position and not "So we laid you off from this $60k a year job, and now we'd like you to come back as a janitor for minimum wage" or something --
Hmm. In a word, no. I would not be willing to return to any of the companies that have laid me off. (I'm including companies where I've had so-called employment 'contracts' too.)
Depends on those things faecat outlined above - do I really want to work there? - and my desperation level. If I needed the money and/or the benefits, I would probably go back whether or not those things were true.
