Fuckin' A, pardon my Français, talk about a bad computer day.
My laptop announced that it had an error loading the system, and seemed pretty certain about it. I don't even want to think about all the files I've been procrastinating to back up, but there's no way around re-installing Windows at this point. Then my Mac threw a fit after I left it on with a bunch of applications running for a day, and wouldn't load anything but a blinking folder with a question mark on it (that's quite an illustration for the user's frustration, I tell you). After a bottle of beer and a bowl I ended up coming to a conclusion that I have more chances reasoning with the Mac, at least its screen of death isn't as hopelessly nihilistic as PC's, and your operating system, applications and files get to live in the post-crash afterlife. Three hours down the road (note the persistence), I finally convinced the machine to work, only to find out that the printer is acting up now. Technology, I hate you.
