Dad's Belated B'day Celebration.

Location: Mayim Restaurant, Northpoint
Food: 4/5 stars
Service: 3.5/5 stars

I think restaurants shouldn't have weird rules like "You can't reserve a table unless you're a group of 8 pax or more." Which we weren't. We only had 6 people so we couldn't reserve. Hahaha. Clar chose Mayim from hungrygowhere.com.sg - quite risky since, if it sucks, dad's gonna have an awful birthday & that just sucks right? Fortunately, the food was actually quite good. 8-course? I didn't take pictures of all the food because I was too busy eating hahaha. So anyway service was rather blah, other than the nice-looking-for-his-age manager who was very efficient and helpful. The other female servers were very bad in the sense that their body language revealed how unwilling they were to take certain orders (We split our orders, so it wasn't just one order at one go, it was 3 orders at different times which they found very inconvenient  I guess, judging from their faces & reluctance.) Also, we asked one of the servers "What's the meaning of tian1 le4 tang3?" (Chinese translation of Mayim), she replied "We have another branch that is currently under renovation."* Hahaha, of which we just gawked at her, and dismissed it hahaha.

Discovered where my genes of 'shyness' came from. My dad was sitting facing the wall and he was mighty embarrassed when we surprised him with a cake. He is usually not shy, I guess he hates to be singled out for a lame reason. (laughs) I really hate that too. :) I hate throwing birthday parties and stuff like that. Not because it's not nice, but the attention is just... so unnecessary! Heh.

Tired of writing already. The rest of the photos are on FB. :)
