Sommer!

Jul 08, 2007 18:24

Finally a beautiful day in Berlin. Had a pseudo north-american brunch on the sidewalk with my new friend Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay, a brilliant artist who wishes to flee the discipline in which he has had much success (something i can relate to). Of course i will never learn that you cannot order any sort of mexican themed breakfast anywhere other than the southwest of the USA (or the defunct Sala Rossa whose Huevos Rancheros I still pine for two years later). White beans? Cheddar? oh give it up, north american girl.

yes, i know it more and more. I am a new world girl. I love it here, I really do. Love the renegade spirit, love the drinking on the street business, love the street culture. But i feel Canadia pulsing in my veins.

Kimm and I wandered the Flohmarket at Am Mauerpark. She shopped a bit. I have no desire to add to the burden of my luggage. Fell in love with the rhythm section of a band playing tzigane versions of Johnny Cash and Tom Waits songs. Kissed the sky.

I am such a creature of habit. How many times have i wandered around this same neighbourhood, stopping into the same corner store, the same internet shop. I like smiles of acknowledgment. I am not such an adventuress and I am fine with that.

Reading a book about Charles Ludlam, founder of the Theatre of the Ridiculous. Also reading a book on hypnosis and King Kong Theorie, an evidently angry book by Virginie Despentes, author of Baise Moi. I dont know the english translation of that book made into a movie (Fuck me?) but it seered my eyeballs when i read it ten years ago. Feminism not dead.

Kimm and I are planning a revolution and it will be very very generous.
