Farmer's Markets and Chicken Wings.

Life on the Eastside (extensive Eastside, combined with Southside) is pretty Stepford-esque, but I honestly don't mind. It probably helps that our house is the only occupied home in our corner of the subdivision, but I really like the flashback to the Cold War days. I like to see the kids riding their bikes after dinner, and I like that my neighbors smile at me but keep their distance. Of course, when we actually have people living in the homes around ours, my opinion may change drastically.

This morning we headed to the local hippie "eco-friendly" community for what was advertised as a "Farmer's Market" in the local paper (yes, there is actually a "local" paper out here. It comes out once a week and the majority of it is dedicated to high school sports). When we got there, we saw four booths selling an assortment of silver jewelry, pottery, baskets, and some other hippiewares. We continued driving, without really even slowing down. So much for that option.

M is making chicken wings for dinner. The only wedding gift we received that he was involved in requesting was a fairly fancy deep-fryer with lots of bells and whistles. Literally. It's beeping right now.

My promotion at work is effective tomorrow. I would be more excited if an assistant has already been hired to cover the things I used to do. In the meantime, I will do two jobs and get paid for one. Yay for salaries! Work-related posts are lame, but I can feel one coming. Look out!
