This morning I talked to my mom and somehow we landed on the subject of stand mixers, and this is really interesting because I've been looking at them a lot lately, there are a couple models I am interested in the first one is a Bosch Universal (I figure you can never go wrong with a German make). The mixer itself is a decent price, but if I wanted to go all out and get the stainless steel bowl which I do, it would cost me an extra $100 or more.
Then I looked at the Kitchenaid tilt head mixers. I have a hand mixer that is great from this line, and my parents got me a red 5-speed blender from the line at a great price too (they are the best blenders out, and normally run around $119, they got it for like $39). Well my parents were talking and thinking since they've put out a bunch of new colors of this line they might sell of the older colors at a closeout price in their stand mixers, such as the red blender, so I looked at 3 different models all over the place online today. The first is the Ultra Power it has 300 watts and a 4.5 Qt bowl, then there is the Artisan with 325 watts and a 5 Qt bowl, finally there is the Accolade 400, with 400 watts and a 5 Qt bowl. I really would like the Accolade 400, since it is more powerful and is better for mixing heavy cookie doughs and bread doughs (which I need because I make the pizza dough)! And I found it for like $250 online, which is the selling price for the Artisan. So I got some thinking to do. Any suggestions??? I wonder if the difference in watts impacts the way the machine runs.
