oh the tangled fandom web
skip this entry it is utterly meaningless to probably everyone who isnt me --im just being upfront
there is a new section on Stephenie Meyer's site now for Eclipse it includes a QUOTE eek ...and yes i already have it memorized. the first chapter comes out on May 5 and the book will be released on August 7 ahh...three months for me to fangirl all over it haha
this will be such a fandom-filled summer that i honestly dont know if i will have time or energy to obbsess properly...this upsets me. oh well im sure that even my subdued agonizing will be sufficient.
i am really glad i found Twilight this year (june)- i am forever in Rachel's dept for that-..im counting on it deaden some of the sting coming after Harry... which ive found that im not so totally horrified over. i mean, lately, sometimes, im ready to know the end. as much as other times i cringe at the very thought. i dont know. i feel almost traitorous like im betraying someone which couldn't be less true. i will always love Harry and Rowling dont get me wrong. First loves never leave you haha. but ive become sometimes sortof..."at peace" with the end coming ...sometimes for whether i like it or not as it says on the Leaky countdown coming it is...
keeping in a Potter vein, as is my way, i read the new reviews of Order of the Phenoix and grr ...they've been mostly postitive but still
i understand that they have to cut things b/c making these books into movies is like stuffing an elephant into a phone booth but, i dont understand why they have to change things that they keep. Do they think that they can somehow improve them? i dont know. i just dont see the reason for it. they have these beloved books which they rave about how brillant they are which i totally agree with and then they change random things for absolutely no reason at all ...and then things become stupid and many "What the...?" 's are issued but bah ill end it with this platitude "If it ain't broke; don't fix it." wise words, wise words.
on a brighter ootp-movie-related note the much-ranted-about Michael Gamdon has been said to give much more accurate portrayal in this installment so yay! although if this is true (which ill believe it when i see it) it must be comepletely inconstitent with Goblet. but continutiy, as discussed on this weeks MuggleCast, does not seem to be one of Warner Brother's prioritys so i suppose this could be.
