The Hidmo Eritrean Cuisine Restaurant is becoming well known throughout Seattle, WA for its wonderful food, entertainment, and social justice work! In light of the recent activities at Hidmo, we would like to focus on all the good that has happened in one year of ownership by the Ogbe Habte sisters!!!!
We are inviting friends, family, neighbors, community members, and community organizations to participate in celebrating a year of joy, triumph, and challenges. We are proud to have worked with over 50 plus organizations that are committed to changing and challenging the world around them on a cultural and political level. Whether it was catering at various conferences & cultural shows or having organizational meetings under the "hut" to providing spaces for personal birthdays, fundraisers, or promotional moments for local Hip Hop artists and community activists… the Hidmo is honored to have been part of your life and growth for this past year.
As the community around us and the world change and shift, the Hidmo stands as a testimony of what can be built with love, honesty, success, failures, and endurance, when you believe in something enough then the community will come together to manifest your dreams, create new visions and make new possibilities for true change.
This event will consist of snacks, memoriablia/slideshows, cultural and organizational testimonies and sharing, and information on the latest developments within the Central District community.
In preparation for this wonderful event, please send solidarity statements or personal testimonies of "how has the Hidmo worked for or supported you?", "My connections to the Hidmo are?," and enlightening or funny happenings at the Hidmo to hidmolove@gmail.com, especially if you are not able to attend.
