I agree, and I think most people when prompted to really think about it would as well. I just don't think people really give it any thought, that they can belong to many many different labels and still "make sense".
That's very interesting. I remember when I did my year of English at the Uni in Iceland, I did an essay about homosexuality in the Bible, studying what exactly was said about it, and the actual, original reasons why. It was enlightening (and refreshing in a way) to see the laws set against people having sex with others of the same sex were set for completely different reasons than people interpret them today - sanitary reasons as well as to distinguish from other tribes who indulged in homosexual behaviour and were considered barbarian being among the reasons. It's also interesting to read about cultures who have completely different understanding of gender - for example how intersex people used to be revered as higher-level beings but don't exist publically anymore, even though they are a lot more common than people think, as well as some Native American tribes who had three or four different genders, the hijras of South Asia etc.
Damn. I think most people in our society today do know at least about bisexuality, even though many still refuse to admit it as 'valid' for some reason. I guess close minded people can't picture anyone thinking differently about love than they do - sure you can love someone of the same sex or the opposite, but you must have the same limits as them on it! *rolls eyes*
