Alright. I went to MuggleNet to view the cover images for The Deathly Hallows.
There are some obvious things that stand out on the children's US cover, I haven't really looked too hard at the others but they're fairly simplistic, as always.
I circled/noted the obvious for discussion... if anyone bothers.
1) Is Voldemort looking at the same thing as Harry or at Harry or perhaps trying for both.
2) What is Harry seeing that's worth taking his eyes off the wonderous Voldie for?
2.5) Whatever it is, by the way his hand is positioned, it looks catch`able.
(Unlike Voldie's hand which isn't prep'd to catch but has more of a Nooo! look but it could be to catch something..maybe not the same thing as Harry)
3) Is Harry wearing the locket Regalus took?
4) Damn audience.
5) A tatty veil/curtain and broken up platform.
At first by the sort of arena look, I was reminded of the Death Chamber where our beloved Sirius plunged into the unknown.
But this appears to be outside at dusk (or dawn) and the curtain is yellow (not black). (Plus the dais or whatever was made of stone not wood)
Still! I've always thought of the archway as a portal, not an actual execution method. -Not that I'm saying I think Sirius *isn't* dead.
I'm not saying I think he *is* either. Bwahaha.
Another thing, uncircled, is that neither Voldie or Harry has a wand.
Is that what Harry is trying to catch?
Yes, yes, we know *their own* wands can't be used against each other. *Without the risk of being joined again... -Added for Sparkle-
Anyways, I may add to this later, as I haven't taken much time to think about this.
Though I did recheck to make sure the veil was black.
(Using `Sirius and my book)
Though... if it were shin(e)y.. then it could be reflecting the yellowy orange sky >_> But the MOM would have to be gone to show the sky, yeh?
Another, farfetched idea is that it's the other side of the veil. :)
**Next Blog**
Alright, so I know I took a long time to post this one after the US version but I couldn't think of anything much to say till I thought about it last sleep.
I don't read any HP sites so bear with me if you've heard any of the same/similar speculations as I make here.
Potter15 said in a response to his last blog entry:
"R. A. B. being Regulus Black is the popular theory right now. Despite the locket already having been destroyed, it still seems to have some importance, as evidenced by the British adult cover for the seventh book, which depicts only the locket."
Though I don't recall the locket actually being destroyed. Just chucked into a bag of rubbish. I just read the cleaning chapter again. That's if The locket is the one from the Black's house. But if not, I don't believe RAB would've destroyed it, but kept it as something to hold over Voldemort. Like people do in hoodoo.
*Rubs temples and wishes the lighting in here was better*
Anyways, my ideas go with the idea that the locket was not, in fact, destroyed.
So, now to explain the circles.
1) This is just to show the circular entry to wherever they are. It doesn't not look like a vault opening.
1.5) Going by their expressions and body positions, they are either falling into or out of the room.
2) Treasure! The room, if not an actual vault, appears to be a treasure trove, Could the locket or another horcrux end up being in there?
I'd hate to try and find anything in there. >_>
3) The Sky. It's similar to the sky in the US cover. This is most likely not coincidental.
4) I thought this was Ron holding a sword but the hand is small and greyish. Look closer and it's a house elf on Harry's back.
5) Oops, it appears I forgot a 5.
6) A crystal ball holding a big ass snake. What does this mean?
7) What role does Prongs have in this story?
Share your thoughts.
Update: I only just seem to have realized Harry is already wounded in this image.. maybe I saw it before but didn't think it worth mentioning o_O
But that makes this bit after the US cover's time doesn't it? ...since Harry doesn't seem injured there.
