Did a full day of painting today with a lunch break to go clothes shopping. Felt incredibly indulgent. Also, we're leaving for my husband's uncle's house in Florida on Wednesday. Alice won't stop asking to go on the big plane to Forda ever since I told her about it on Friday. I'm feeling antsy and understand her. Mama wants to leave RIGHT NOW too honey.
In the meantime, since we still aren't averaging anywhere near freezing (that would be downright hot), we've been visiting the butterfly garden and the conservatory, and pretty much anywhere in town that has plants indoors. I'm totally starved for green and I'm starting to loose my mind.
On Sunday, we saw a balloon installation downtown by my friend at Airigami, and it was fantastic. He really outdid himself this year. It was a three story tall balloon sculpture of a pirate ship and floating dancing fishes and an octopus, and well, look at the hashtag #balloonmanor on Instagram (http://websta.me/tag/balloonmanor).
Alice has been alternating cranky and then fine and telling us her stomach hurts or that her foot hurts or that her pee hurts, so we took her to the doctor over the weekend. It turns out she just has an intestinal bug and dumb me, when the doctor described the symptoms, I realize that I have it too. Sometimes I can be so disconnected from my own body that I know more about what's going on with Alice than I do with myself.
The sub jobs have trickled up, so I'm a bit nervous. I'm going to try to apply for more sub positions in nearby town libraries, and I'm going to try to really use my time at home to paint if I'm not working. I don't feel good about applying to anything permanent until we know where we are going to live next year.
