So i have a permanent address now living with a 25 year old banker
named Bruce who is a boxer in his spare time (bruce the boxer- how
cliche is that?) at:
Unit 4, 20 Durham st.
St Lucia 4067
Queensland, Australia
It's a really nice fully furnished place and the guy seems nice
enough. It's really close to the school and I asked people about how
good of a deal it was and they seemed really impressed that I got such
a good place in such a short period of time... It's actualy pretty
funny- I got to the apartment and there were 3 other people there
trying to get the same Share accommodation, describe ourselves in a
little personal ad for this guy in front of eachother (this was all
last night). I got along really well with this Australian named
Georgia and it turned out that she had 3 more appointments that night
that she let me tag along for the other places, even though it was
clear that the housing market was tight. Apparently bruce the boxer
had 20 people who had applied for the apartment and he picked me,
which is really great. Anyway. Georgia and I are friends now and we've
texted back and forth to arrange lunches and stuff... So an Australian
friend
Other australian friends I've met include Michael and Jamison, who
have "heaps of mattresses" and who played soccer with me yesterday. I
have their numbers too.
I'm being very aggressive about all this, I realize.
So... Now all I have to do is sort out my extracurricular activities-
I promised myself I would only do 2 extracurricular things and I'm
deciding between uqdance, which is a free club that goes to... clubs,
uqathletics club, which costs 90 dollars to join but 66 of those
dollars goes to the queensland athletics association and allows you to
go to races on the weekends, and volunteering, which is free too and I
have lots of experience... but I don't know.
SSOooooo....
other friends include suzzanne, matthias, and michael, (swede and 2
germans) who i was going to get an apartment with but now that I've
found a share they're looking on their own. We'll probably hang out
sometime this weekend.
it's all very confusing. and a lot is going on
the next step is to find a job.
