I love cynical morbid Hanson. The irony is that it makes me smile :) A lot. Maybe too much for lyrics that pessimistic. But it's been four years since the last studio record, and so it's really nice to finally hear songs in full. Not just crappy bootleg versions. I mean what, I'm not downloading bootlegs O:-)
I've had "Underneath" playing non-stop since I got it on Monday. It's such an amazing record; and if I'm being honest, by far it's the best of all of them. The evolution in the music is just mind blowing. And to think, all these tracks were written 2000/2001, which only leads me to believe that whatever they're writing now is a billion times better, which is an exciting thought. They better not make us wait another four years for the next album. Although really, now that I'm sitting here with a tangible copy in my hands, four years seems like nothing. At the end of the day, it was worth the wait. The music is amazing, and I'm so proud of them. Reading through the credits, it was so boggling to see how much work they'd done for this record - aside from establishing their own label, there's also the fact that they did a lot of producing, Ike did Protools and they all worked as sound engineers for "Underneath". That has to say something about them. Gosh, I don't know. I'm just really happy with the way this record turned out and how they've evolved as musicians and the things they do behind the scenes.
In short, Hanson are keeping me sane throughout all this ... stuff going on right now, that I'm not ready to say. And I'm insanely proud of them and happy for them. This record deserves to do well, and I hope it gives them the recognition and credit they deserve. But anyhoo, moving on.
Toona rules my world. :-D And Shaz and Brooke arrive here in something like three weeks, I'm excited. Mayer in Newcastle, and Maroon 5 in Sydney - I am so stoked. I'll also be going to a few Club Acoustica shows (not playing, sob :-x Haha) here and there. I'm so in love; all these amazing live acts all in the time span of a week. I think I'll go into live music overload, if that's possible. :)
Anyway, everyone should all head on over here for the new site, hahaha. Shameless self promotion, where would I be without you? :-D
