Вот нельзя называть кусочек рыбы стейком. Но очень хочется. Ибо похоже! И вообще, если кофей смог сменить пол, то и тунец может обзавестись своим личным стейком. И еще трудно сказать, что лучше, стейк или шайба.

А вот, самое раннее издание Оксфордского словаря, по свидетельству Википедии, определяет стейк, как кусок мяса, отрезанный для последующего рост, грил или фрай, иногда для употребления в пай или пудинге, а также как кусок рыбы, cod (трески). Так что... :)))
The word steak originates from the mid-15th century Scandinavian word steik, or stickna' in the Middle English dialect, along with the Old Norse word steikja.[5] The Oxford English Dictionary's first reference is to "a thick slice of meat cut for roasting or grilling or frying, sometimes used in a pie or pudding; especially a piece cut from the hind-quarters of the animal." Subsequent parts of the entry, however, refer to "steak fish", which referred to "cod of a size suitable for cutting into steaks", and also "steak-raid", which was a custom among Scottish Highlanders of giving some cattle being driven through a gentleman's land to the owner.[6]

В той же Википедии вычитал, что tuna steaks в Великобритании вошли в моду в 90-х, когда пошла мода на сырое, японское. Известно, что тунец у японцев в почете. Очевидно, у англичан он в моде не был... :)))
