So I belong to this myspace group called "Old Skool Tampa" and I was poking around on there today. I found a link to a video on YouTube I found highly amusing. It's a club called "The Castle" that I used to go to in Ybor City every week when I lived in Florida. Some of my friends are in this video and I got a big kick out of it. this is pretty cool...not that i ever really associated with the goth culture, but something about it just seems kind of home-y? nostalgic? maybe because the newscast looks like it's from the 90s...

Yeah I think it was circa 1997? I was pretty big into the whole goth scene for that time period. It was really fun. That club the Castle- I went there ALL the time. Those were the days...

My favorite line is how the anchorman at the end of it all said something like, "I wonder if their parents know." I'm thinking, at the time I was 27, out on my own with a successful job. Same with everyone there... whose parents need to know?

I've shown this to my wife now... she laughs and laughs... and so do I.

I know, most of us were at least 21, and on our own. They were pretty clueless. I thought you'd get a kick out of that. I wish I could find the video on YouTube with that photographer who took pictures of the goths at The Castle one night... That was fun and I have the news clip on video but I haven't found it on youtube. Do you know what I'm talking about?
