On Sunday I went to Lisa's baby shower. She has to be one of the cutest little pregnant girls I've ever seen. All smiles and rockabilly style.

We hung out and ate some delicious burgers which Lauren had ingeniously hidden carrot shreds in, since little Ozzie is not too fond of his veggies right now. He's walking now, so I got to see him intrepidly explore the apartment by himself, holding both arms out to balance while he gingerly took small steps. But I think my favorite part of the evening was sharing ice cream with him. After some of the bites, he did this little happy dance that involve rolling his shoulders, sort of like a conga move. Hilarious!
Last night I attempted a new recipe, which is sort of like my lower-calorie version of the bacon explosion. Mine entails a pork tenderloin covered with a layer of fresh thyme sprigs and wrapped in a woven bacon mat.

I pan-fried it on both sides for a few minutes and then roasted it with dried apricots and green onions. Yum!

Concert photography is hard! Especially when you're all the way in the back of a moving crowd. The show was truly amazing. I'm so glad we went, and that I'm making good on my goal of seeing more live music this year. Up next? Devotchka on Feb. 9.
