ozzfest...it has been understood that we were going because ben is about to bust a nut over seeing judas priest with rob halford & slayer. well, when the news broke that black sabbath would be playing instead of shit solo ozzy, i asked ben if he wanted to go ahead & get tix because i do want to see black sabbath & i am NOT sitting in the fucking nasty grass, so i got the cheaper (whatever $55) seats & we are on the last row. i cannot believe the grass tix are $33 - that's outrageous, but i'd gladly spend the extra 22 bucks on having a seat. i hate being stuck in the grass. it's ok to hang out there for a while, but i am too old & prissy not to have a real seat to go to. we probably would have been better off doing what we did at ozzfest 99 & buy the tix at the show. we had the most awesome seats - 12 row center & the $150 we spent for them was worth it because black sabbath ruled! oh well at least ben will finally get to see slayer.
i guess i'm going to pass on the cure show. who knows how much those tix will cost. i saw the cure a long time ago on the disentegration tour & they were so-so. the only other band i care to see on that bill is interpol & i'd much rather see them in a club than at starwood. that kind of music does not translate well in a starwood atmosphere.
i just really cannot believe i'm choosing to go to a heavy metal fest over a cure fest. did my fright of the scary redneck crowd at my 1st heavy metal show (metallica - and justice for all) not teach me anything????
