This story has so many interesting aspects I can't quite decide which one appeals to me most. First of all, I really liked how you gave the governess a well-researched, entirely believable backstory. All of your characters ring very true both to history and to canon, and I am so glad you also took your time to flesh out the supporting roles!

Wow! I can't thank you enough for the shower of lovely compliments! I'm glad you've found so much that appeals to you about this story, and I'm particularly pleased that you liked the detail I gave to my OC, Mathilde. It's always tricky to write OC's, because not all readers like them (since they take precious time as well as the "spotlight" away from the canonical "stars" of the fic). However, I felt it was important, in this case, for us to see Will and Elizabeth's little act of impulse through an outsider's eyes (plus there was also the little plot device that Mathilde had to be the one to spill the beans to Weatherby about what she'd witnessed, driving the story in the direction I needed it to go). ;-)

The slow development from friendship to affection between Elizabeth and Will is stunningly well written, and I find myself falling for them even more with each new chapter.

High praise indeed! :-) They are a darling pair, aren't they? As much as my primary leanings are Sparrabeth, there's just something I find irresistibly adorable about the young Will/Elizabeth pairing! It's good to know I'm not the only one who's fallen under their "spell". ;-)
