(no subject)
on wednesday, we're going to the leuc for 80s/indie night, put on by some of the guys at univ in encinitas. you should come and boogie. i'm on spring break, so i'm enjoying a little freedom. maybe too much freedom. i am already a bit sick of being out and drinking already. the last two nights put me over the edge. but, i suppose it's worth it; i just want to take it easy until wednesday. write my vows and shit.
on another note, i'm taking a philosophy class at palomar right now, and i'm really enjoying it. i also start a theatre class next wednesday at ucsd. i'm enjoying just doing something other than work. i feel like i've been stagnant in my personal growth. i don't feel like i mentally stimulate myself because i just read the same books over and over with my students and have conversations with 17-year-olds all day. i really miss being in school, where i could learn. i feel like i was more interesting then. i kinda feel boring lately.
on more good news notes, phill's band, sayvinyl, is playing the belly up in solana beach on thursday may 3rd. also, despite the fact that he's been really busy with the band, we've been really trying to have dates and spend more quality time together, rather than just sitting on the couch when we are together. it's been really nice to actually feel like we're connecting again 'cause we've just been so caught up in other things. the wedding is now 3 months and 1 week away... i can't believe we've already been engaged a year. i'm so excited for it to be here already. almost everything is done-- we even bought our wedding rings yesterday. :)
i've also been really focused on having girl time and bonding with some new friends. i am trying to be a more balanced person and not just allow myself to get buried under work. my next goal is to figure out how to become more adept with my camera. i've been in the mood to take pictures. our friend jamie is getting really good with the same camera i have; i think we're going to do some tutorials. at his birthday bash on friday, i borrowed his camera and took many drunken pictures at the saloon. for being wasted, i was impressed. but he still needs to help me figure out how he sets the settings so perfectly.
i'm going to the doctor tomorrow because i've hurt my knee somehow, which has put my exercise regiment to a crawl. that's a bit frustrating.
also, my godsister, who is the closest thing to a sibling i have and who i've known for the last 22 years, announced she is pregnant and getting married the weekend before me. i'm the maid-of-honor ("maid" by one week!), so i'm getting to relive the wedding-planning process a bit. it's actually fun. man, this is just the year of the weddings... i guess we're at that age, but we have, like, 8 or 9 to go to between now and this time next year. and this past year, we've had several to go to-- we just haven't gone. ;)
anyway, we're going to bbq now. no one has really returned our phone calls today, but if you're bored and you know where we live, well then, we'll be here!
