Distress

Feb 10, 2008 03:47

Okay, when last I updated, I was wallowing in a bad day. Good news. My shoulder feels much better and (against medical advice) I am now without my stupid sling. My Giants won the Super Bowl, too. So what if my freezer is still frozen shut because it takes more than a week to check the recall status of a product. I'm on to a bigger problem now. Does anyone know anything about cascading computer failures? My IE has declared war, again. It's in the process of crashing my hard drive, this will be the third to fall to the insidious explorer program. It has decided to start erasing random .dll files so that programs suddenly stop working. Of course, this is partially the reason that I've named this computer Albatross, or Albie. Is the abacus going to make a comeback any time soon? *sigh* No? I didn't think so. Anyway, if anyone knows how to stop this shit from happening again, I would appreciate some advice. Post haste. I am too poor to afford a new computer. While this one is in my office, it's also my personal computer. As in, my boss won't pay for a new one.  If anyone can help, please. Before I'm forced to purchase colouring books and crayolas for entertainment. While it has been happening for a while, it's now moved on to programs that I actually use more than once a year. As I'm out of things to say, I shall away now. Later.
