So yesterday I was a bit down in the dumps from working all weekend, and rushing home to deal with my equine podiatrist, which is a horse foot doctor who files my guys feet (meaning $50 less in my bank account... yay!), but I went out to get Consent, and he was so loving. He wanted to be near me and only me... I was so happy to be out there. He doesn't really like my EP (equine Podiatrist) mostly because it takes soooo long. But he was very nice, and loving and made my whole day worthwhile.
But, Consent has that bad leg, well a lot of work needed to be done yesterday, and was held in a tough position for a VERY long time. I went to trot him out afterwards and he was limping so bad. I felt so bad for him. Five minutes later he was still a little off but galloping around his field, galloping up to me, saying *hi mom, watch me run" Off again, running around, back again... he was feeling alright this morning, but I've spent the whole day looking into surgeries. I think I'll call out a vet this week and have her tell me if removing the bone chip would be beneficial to him. I don't think I'll be able to do it, only because I think it's already attached, but I will find out. Otherwise, he will continue to be worked, kept on his schedule, and I will be starting him on a few things considered *miracle drugs*...
So here's the good news. The crack in his hoof that he's had since the day I got him almost 3 years ago is GONE!!!! My EP has done a wonderful job! Oh, and this was his 4th time out and my horse got a lot of 4's on his feet progress reports. When we started he was only at a 1 or 2... 4 is the highest they've ever given a horse! Oh, and he's been moving sooooo bueatifully. I'm really happy.
