house business
Ok, so here is an update to what I have been up to :)
My husband and I are currently trying to fix-up our house. It isn't like an old beat up house or anything but we know of some things that would raise the house's value. For example, the bathrooms all need to be retiled. Our house was built in the late 70's and the masterbath has that mustard yellow tile and the kid's bathroom has the olive green tile. The green isn't that bad but has a few cracked tiles and such. So I might as well update it too. We have already redone our litle downstairs bathroom.
But that's not what we have been up to...
The other day I was vacuuming the stairs. I HATE to vacuum. Seriously. I have this HUGE issue about it. Anyway, we have had carpet in our house and our kitten has been scratching at it a lot recently. And while I was trying to clean, the vacuum kinda sucked up the corner a bit. So of course I was curious. Low and behold...we own BEAUTIFUL hardwood floors. And a lot of dirt. Did you know how much dirt your vacuum doesn't pick up? It's really gross. I was so disgusted I called my husband and asked him if we could take out the carpet. Low and behold, that is what we have been up to.
We had 4 days with no kids so we tore out the carpet in my bedroom, the stairs, the music room, the upstairs hallway, and all 3 of the children's bedrooms. It is beautiful. And we painted the music room. Both the walls and the trim. Now we are painting the trim and walls in the foyer, going up the stairs, and the upstairs hallway.
I can't believe how amazing it looks. :)
