Spring Con

Spring Con is the best con I ever went to. And I'm not just saying that because it's the freshest in my mind. It was AMAZING beyond belief. Everything was just... amazing.
Chris Meco and I went up but he had to leave as soon as we woke up on Saturday, so he was only there for a tiny tiny bit. It was weird after he left because not only was I the only one left from my church, I was the only one there from New Jersey! But even though this is only my third con... I didn't feel alone or isolated or excluded at all, for the first time at a con. Every single second that I wanted to be doing something or talking to someone, I was. No awkwardness at all. Which is weird that I felt that way for the first time when I didn't have any people that I knew from home.
I met so many amazing people! Erin, Paul Gupta, Jake, Callie, Shaina, Mike B, and moreee (omg I need sleep I can't even think of anybody else). And of course hung out with my old friendssssssss DMMMMMMMMMMM my con bff <3. Me, him, and Erin were together a lot. I also hung out with Chris Hale Sills a lot (from Philly... met him at cluster event) and just like everyone in general. I realized that I need to go up to people and just start talking to them, because they're not excluding me. Everyone is included itssoamazing! So that was cool. One of my goals was to talk to people that I had seen a lot in previous cons but not really talked to, because for god's sake this is the third time I've spent a weekend with them. The only uncool part about the whole weekend was Kurtis blatantly ignoring me, but whatever. And the fact that I accidentally got hit with a furby on the back of the head. But Paul apologized and it was an accident so haha whateverrrrr
We did the normal: SSNA, kawfee hause, worships, workshops (which I slept through!), everything. We did family group skits which was awesome too, ours was about scuba divers (our prop was fluorescent bendy straws) and the alien who killed everyone. But the best was by far group one who combined Star Wars and Lord of the RIngs. I slept with DM and Trevor in the co-ed sleeping room the first night and with Chris HS downstairs the second night. I played cards, played phone games with DM, talked about comedians with a bunch of people, discussed "who would you rather fight" with Ryan and Alex Applegate, just had an amazing time.
Spring Con's theme is DYSC business more than anything else, so Saturday we spent a long time approving the charter in clusters (Callie is our new cluster rep!). Then we had elections for next year and I was pretty much happy with everyone who got elected. Ben Polson is co-chair yay! Then I slept a lot.
However, by far the best part of the weekend was Saturday night's worship. We held hands and went into the room singing a song, with all the bridging seniors in the middle, a candle in the direct center of their circle. Everyone else sat on the outside circle. Each senior told a little about their experience with cons and UUism and everything, and it was really touching. Then we did angel wash, but only for the seniors. Every single one of them that walked by I hugged them and said something and it was sad but I was okay. Then, Phoenix came (who was last) and in the middle of hugging him and talking to him, I just burst out in tears. I was bawling for the next fifteen or twenty minutes. And then everyone around me started hugging me instead of the seniors haha but it was all good. I feel so loved by everyone at con <33 Besides Phoenix, it was Alex that made me start crying. He was directly across from me and he had been bawling his eyes out since the seniors gave their con memories. He was so sad. After that everything was soooo sad but at the same time so happy. I lovedd this con more than anything. It's a good thing most of the seniors are coming to Summer Con.
That's it I guess. Unfortunately, pictures won't be up on facebook until April 19 because my camera only works on my brother's laptop and that's when he comes home... grrr...
