I just received an email from someone to pray that the appeal for the reversal of prop 8 to happen and stick. O_o

Federal Judge Strikes Down Marriage Only Between Man and Woman. federal judge in San Francisco ruled today that people of the same gender do have a constitutional right to marry. The ruling declares that Proposition 8, by which the people voted to amend the California constitution to ban same sex marriage, is unconstitutional, and that a prior ruling by the California Supreme Court would stand allowing for same sex marriage. Most of the testimony in the trial favored marriage rights for those desiring non-traditional marriage. Protestors on both sides of the issue have been amassing in cities across California and elsewhere to support their own views. Alliance Defense Fund announced plans to appeal the decision saying "This battle is far from over. We plan to appeal today's outrageous ruling to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit."
