I'M FINALLY DONE WRITING THIS!!
Yes, I finally finished, because it's the weekend, so I had time to work on it~ :3 I hope you enjoy!!

Title: 手紙 (Tegami)
Author: Mika
Pairing: Nakajima Yuto/OC
Rating: PG-13 (because of coarse language)
Genre: Angst
Summary: Nakajima Yuto never thought much about the fan letters he received. He was happy that there were so many fans that adored him, but sometimes.. It could be a pain to read through every single one. He was one day leafing through a new pile of letters, and he came across a plain white envelope that had his name on it. No decorations, no nothing. Intrigued, he picked it up and began to examine the contents. A simple one paged lined paper, included with a photograph of scenery. The letter was about a girl and her life. She treated the letter as some sort of Diary or Pen pal letter rather than a fan letter. He found himself interested in the letter. And she kept sending more, each with a new picture. She says she's a photographer. Each photo so real that he could almost feel the scenery around him. Yuto found himself striving to read the letters as she goes through hardships. Everything in her life goes wrong. He wants to comfort, he wants to help... but all he can do is read.

It was another normal day at the Jimusho. Practicing dance moves, learning new songs, more practicing... Then finally a break. We were all sitting on the floor, sweating and fanning ourselves. I took a long sip of my water bottle and lay face down on the cold floor. I sighed in comfort from the feeling of the cool surface against my skin.

“Boys! Here's your fan mail!” the worker dumped a cardboard box down on the floor. Letters filling it to the brim. We said nothing and just stared at the box. Everyone had mixed feelings about fan letters. It's great to hear that fans love you so much, but it's to the point that you kind of get sick of reading the exact same shit over and over again. Couldn't fan girls write different things for once? Don't get me wrong. I adore my fans. But couldn't they write something more interesting for a change?

I sighed and got up from my position on the floor. I took another swig from my water bottle and walked towards the box.

My movement caused a chain reaction and the rest of JUMP stood warily to go read their fan mail.

I picked up what I could from the box and sat down on the floor. There were so many I didn't know which one to start with. All of them carefully decorated with stickers, colours and drawings. I leafed through them absentmindedly, barely paying attention to the vibrant colours donning the envelopes. There was an echoed slap as one parcel dropped from my hand of letters. I looked down curiously to see a simple white envelope. Intrigued, I picked it up. The simplicity made me more curious as if why the person who sent this did not have the time or did not want to decorate the letter. My tongue between my teeth, I tried carefully opening the envelope without tearing it. I stopped trying and shook my head. What the hell am I doing? It's just an ordinary envelope! Just tear it open! Ready to rip it, I held the letter vertically in my hands and stopped once again. Why am I being such a wuss? I clicked my tongue and rubbed the back of my head. What's wrong with me? It's just a piece of paper! I cursed under my breath and continued to open the letter like before. Trying not to rip the envelope.

After a minute or two of working on it, I finally had the letter opened and I slipped out the contents. Inside was a single piece of lined paper folded neatly. Underneath was a photograph. I took out the photo and looked at it. The picture made no sense at all. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. What was this supposed to mean? The photograph was of the ground. As if someone was to stand on a building and just take a picture of the ground below. I turned the photo over to see writing on the back.

”Did you know that the prospective of the ground looks closer on the camera than it does to me?”

I frowned. What is this person talking about? Hoping to find an answer, I unfolded the lined piece of paper. Upon the sheet was neatly placed writing in pencil. There were no drawings, colours or decorations. Just a simple letter. I brushed off the rest of the letters around me and began to read the lined piece of paper in my hands.

Dear Nakajima-san,

Hello. My name is Yasuda Emi. I guess I am writing this letter as a fan of yours. I wouldn't really categorize this as a fan letter, so I shall call this a pen pal letter for a “friend”. Would you be so kind to let me say that you are said “friend”? Alright, rather than just continuing with this nonsense, let's get on to the cheddar, shall we?

I am not writing this letter to tell you how amazing or how good of an idol you are. Because I think that you are getting sick of those same compliments, am I right? Sure, it's supposed to be supportive of a fan to write a sweet letter for their favourite idol, but seeing as you get these almost identical letters with the same compliments, I'm guessing you're hoping for a change.

So why am I writing a letter like this? Is it to catch your attention? It most certainly is. I want you to read this letter and I want you to acknowledge my existence. Call me conceited, but that's just how I feel. Besides, I will never know for sure if you're really reading this at all. Because of the fact that you are not allowed to reply to these letters. So why do I even bother writing? It's because I like to write. I might as well send these letters to some kind of address. I am not taking up writing at all, I just enjoy writing letters. And conveniently, I had no one to send them to but you. And thus, that brings up another question. Why you? Why not any other famous person? Because I like you. I wouldn't say “like” as in a love kind of feeling, but as a neutral feeling. I feel as if we are alike and I think we could understand each other best.
Do you think you will understand my feelings as a person?

So did you see the photo I enclosed in the letter? I hope you did. It probably doesn't make sense to you at all, does it? It hardly makes sense to myself as well. I just felt like pointing the camera down and taking a picture. I love to take pictures by the way. I think I will include a photo in every letter I write. It'll make things more interesting, eh? Well that's all I want to say today,
Thanks for reading this letter.

Sincerely,
Yasuda Emi

Oh! YasuMi!
お!保美!

“Yuto-kun!”

I snapped back to my senses and looked up from the paper in my hands.

“Jeez, I've been calling you for the last five minutes! Listen, would you!?” growled the short boy that walked over. Yamada Ryosuke. He's currently one of my close friends out of the group. He sat heavily beside me on the floor, water bottle in his hand.

“What?” I asked him.

“I was going to ask if you wanted any of Daiki's Pocky, but he just ate the last one.” Ryosuke chuckled, “what were you concentrating so hard on anyways?”

“It's... Nothing.” I managed to stutter. Why was I keeping this to myself? It's just a strange fan letter sent from a random girl. There was nothing to hide.

Ryosuke gave me a confused look, “What's wrong?” he asked.

“Nothing!” I stuttered out all too quickly.

He gave me a quizzical look before asking, “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I'm fine, why?”

“Are you sure?” he asked, his expression changed to worry, “You're not sick are you?”

“I'm fine. Really.” I insisted, “Don't you go worrying about me when you have so much more to worry about yourself.”

He chuckled, “Well, that doesn't give me an excuse for not worrying about you.”

I smiled in reply, “I guess..”

“Hey!Say!JUMP, it's time for practice.”

“Oh, that's us.” Ryosuke stood from the floor, “Let's go.”

“You go ahead, I got to pack up something first,” I replied with a smile.

He gave me another confused look, “O..kay then...” he proceeded to walk towards the rest of JUMP, stretching as he went.

I carefully tucked the photograph and letter back into the envelope and shoved it deep into my bag, making sure none of it was visible.

“Nakajima-san, hurry up.”

“Y.. yes!” I called and jogged up towards the members.

This girl, Yasuda Emi.. She was one interesting character, indeed. I wanted to find out more about her, this letter, the photo... Their all so very intriguing. Oh!YasuMi. That stood for her name. I almost chuckled aloud from the pun. I guess I would look forward to her next fan le- whoops, I meant penpal letter...

I hoped you enjoyed it! :3
