As I walked into the classroom, I felt everyone's eyes on me. They just stared at me, the whole class was dead silent. I ignored the stares and sat at my desk. Sally gave a reassuring look and I smiled back.
Class continued as usual, but I couldn't help but feel self conscious when I felt people's eyes on me. I didn't like being stared at at. I heard whispered conversations about me and I sank a bit in my chair. I continued on with my work and tried not to think about it.
At lunch time, I wasn't so lucky. The more preppy girls came up to me and stared me down.
"Yes?" I asked as I opened up my lunch.
The tallest one, Ayumi was her name, said, "Personally, I think you're the biggest slut in history."
One of her underdogs, Michi, said, "Yeah. Stop going near Nakajima-san. He's probably being used by you."
"Stop being such a whore and break up with him already," said underdog #2, Kurumi to be exact.
I looked up to stare Ayumi in the face, "Is that it?"
Obviously, I confused her. Her expression changed from fierce to pondering. Then back to fierce again, "What do you mean?"
"Is that all you have to say to me?" I asked again.
"Yeah. And if you're still gonna go out with Nakajima-san, I'll report you for sex under aged," she snarled.
"Same goes for you, Ms. Goody Goody," I smirked, "I saw you buying condoms with your new boyfriend a week ago. Which one was it? Your seventh boyfriend that week?"
Her face burned red with rage, "Don't make me do something to you, bitch."
I ignored her and walked out of the classroom with Sally following closely behind. I had enough of them.
"Don't mind them" Sally told me, "they're just jealous of you,"
"As if I didn't realize that already," I laughed bitterly, "but I don't like it... The insults.. the staring.... I wish things can go back the way it was before..."
"I hope so too..." Sally sighed.

"I hope Hidenka-chan is okay..." Yamada murmured.
"That's my line, Yama-chan" Yuto laughed.
"What? We can't be genuinely worried about a friend?" Yamada scoffed and nudged his best friend playfully," You're so over protective sometimes."
"If YOU had a girlfriend, you would be too!" Yuto huffed, "right, Chinen?"
The short boy looked up from his phone with a mouthful of rice, "What?" he managed to mutter.
Yuto rolled his eyes, "Never mind."
Chinen returned to his lunch while the duo had another senseless fight over nothing.
Yamada lay on his back and stared at the open blue sky. Yuto joined him and sighed.
"What's wrong?" the short boy asked.
"How did you know there was something wrong?" Yuto asked.
"I'm your best friend, stupid. Of course I'd know," Yamada smiled, "So what's wrong?"
"Well... Nothing really... It's just..." the lanky boy stretched his arms over his head and crossed his long legs, "I wish things were the way it was before... That's all."
"You mean you regret meeting Hidenka-chan?"
"Not that far back, moron."
"Oh." Yamada laughed, "...Yeah, I wish things were back the way they were before too... Before all this drama happened."
Yuto grunted in agreement. They lay there, feeling the sun against their skin and the wind brush through their hair.
Chinen lay down and joined them not long after. The sound of his cell phone keys being pressed broke the heavy silence.
"Texting your girlfriend?" Yuto grinned.
"Shut up." The boy replied, his lips tugged into a half smile.
"You know we still don't know her name yet..." Yamada teased, "Tell us~!"
"No!" Chinen turned away and muttered something by the lines of "annoying Yamajima."
"Hey! Who are you calling annoying!?"
"You two."
"But that's all Yuto!"
"No it isn't! Yama-chan too!!"
"Both of you are annoying."
"That's IT!"
The pair dove at the small boy and began tickling him senseless. They rolled around on the grass, wresting playfully.
-Ding Dong-
They stopped their wrestling fit and helped each other up.
"Looks like lunch is over..." Yamada murmured. He brushed the grass off his uniform.
Yuto nodded, "Let's go to class."
------------------------------------
Right when I closed the front door behind me I knew something wasn't right. The house was awfully silent and there was no noise coming from anywhere in the house.
"Mom...?" I called.
There was no answer. I frantically rushed into the kitchen. There was a note on the table. I picked it up and read it's contents.
Appear on the next xxxx TV Show as a guest on the upcoming Monday night at 9:30p.m. The interviewer will ask you questions and you will answer. Then you will publicly break up with Nakajima Yuto. If you don't follow these instructions, you will not see your mother.
No... No no no no no!!
I re-read the note at least about three more times and started to pace the kitchen. Tears sprang into my eyes. Why am I always this unlucky? I began to sob and I knelt on to the floor. Why does this have to happen to me? Then I spotted something shining on the floor. I wiped my eyes to see clearer. It was something metal. I picked it up and held it up. A silver ring... I've seen this ring before... I quickly reached for the phone.
"Hello?"
I tried saying something, but my voice cracked and fresh tears came down, "Y.. Yabu-san..."
"What's wrong?" he asked, his voice was full of concern.
I tried to explain but the words became all jumbled up and I could barely control my breathing.
"Calm down" he said, his voice was soothing and steady, "just breathe.. calm..."
I breathed deeply and calmed a bit. My sobs subsided and sniffling reduced.
"Okay NOW tell me what's wrong..." He said.
"M...my mom... They... they t...took her..." I managed to choke out.
"What!?" He exclaimed, "Who!? Why!??"
"I don't know!" I wailed, "they want me to break up with Yuto.."
Yabu swore under his breath, "How could they... Could it be... Johnny...?"
"I don't know... but they dropped something."
"What is it?"
"A ring. It's metal." I replied, "I've seen it before..."
I heard him breathe deeply, "Alright. I'll call everyone. We'll meet at my house at 10 a.m. We can work it out and you can show us that ring. Sound good?"
"Okay..." I breathed, "thank you."
"Don't mention it. Take care, okay?"
"I will.. Thank you" I said again.
I ate dinner alone. The quietness scared me so I turned on the TV. Nothing was interesting as usual... After an hour of switching channels, I turned it off and went into the shower.
I hoped to wash away my worries by taking an extra long and hot shower. I stepped back into my room while I dried my hair. I sighed. The house was so quiet... I flopped onto my bed an stared at the ceiling above me. I held up the silver ring in front of my eyes. The design was so familiar yet I couldn't place where I've seen it before...
I jumped when I heard my phone ring. The sudden noise started me. I put the ring down and picked up my phone.
"Hello?"
"Why didn't you call me and tell me?" Yuto whined.
I couldn't help but smile, "because Yabu-san is a more responsible person and would think more rationally."
He snorted, "I think rationally."
"Because kidnapping your girlfriend that you're not supposed to have and taking her to Johnny's is SUCH a rational idea," I replied sarcastically.
"Only because said girlfriend was being rash and stupid" he retorted and then became silent for a second, "..... Speaking of which, how was school today?"
I sighed, "Some girls called me a whore and slut is all..."
He clicked his tongue and swore under his breath. Then he became silent again. I listened to his breathing. I began counting his breaths. I got to at least twenty when he spoke again.
"Your dad home?" he asked.
"He's on a business trip."
"What about Chizuru?"
"She went to her boyfriend's house for the night."
"Then I'm coming over."
"What!?" I sat up from my bed, "aren't you going to get in trouble?"
"Then that's too bad..." I heard the smile in his voice, "because I'm already here.."
There was a soft knock on the window. I walked over and opened the curtains to see him grinning on the other side. I smiled and slid open the window for him. He hoisted himself over and into my room swiftly.
"What made you come over here?" I asked.
"I don't want you here alone." he replied and kissed my cheek, "and I just missed being with you."
If there was anything Nakajima Yuto never failed to do, it was to make me blush excessively. I just said nothing and looked down. I felt his arms wrap around me and pull me against him. I returned the embrace and pressed my face against his broad shoulder.
He gave me a reassuring squeeze before whispering, "You don't have to pretend around me.. Just let it all out."
I didn't realize I was crying until I drew in a ragged breath and my tears began running freely. I began to sob and gripped the back of his shirt tightly. He stroked my hair and rocked back and fourth on his heels, humming a tune.
My tears soaked the shoulder of his shirt but he didn't seem to mind. He continued to hum and hold me until my sobs subsided to small hiccups.
"I love you," he whispered quietly in my ear, "I love you so much..."
I said nothing and just clung to him tightly. He took my hands and pulled on them gently. My grip on him released and he put his hands on my shoulders, his piercing yet astoundingly beautiful brown eyes stared into mine.
"My love for you wont fade. My love for you can't fade..." his sincere eyes stared deep into mine, "and I know that no matter what, I'll still love you.. And also... I'm sorry. I'm sorry you had to go through this much pain. I'm sorry that because of me, all this happened to you. And most of all, I'm sorry that you fell in love with someone like me..."
Fresh tears rolled down my cheeks, "Don't..." I whispered, "...Don't say sorry... You did nothing.. Don't say sorry..."
I looked up at his face. His tears were like silver crystals that flowed softly down his flushed cheeks. He tried blinking them away, but only more tears came. There was only pain in his beautiful almond coloured eyes.
I reached and put my hand on his cheek, "Don't cry.." my voice cracked as I said so, "Please... don't cry..."
He smiled. Even when he was in pain, even though he was crying... He smiled as if everything was okay. He grasped hold of my hand on his cheek and entwined his fingers with mine.
"You shouldn't cry either then..." he whispered.
Then he kissed me. His lips tasted like tears. He kissed me again and again. He showered me with kisses and held me close like nothing else mattered. As if he was trying to protect me from harm.
We slept together that night, in a tight embrace filled with warmth and tenderness. I couldn't count the number of times he told me he loved me. But I know the amount is unlimited in reality.
