This Year is Just Wierd

I've had the wierdest year. It started basically with buying the house. Then the bank robbery and a horrible case of poison ivy. Things went smooth for a few months after that. Then I fell at a weird angle cleaning the tile in my bathroom of all places and sprained my shoulder. I usually have a high pain tolerance but this required a visit to the doctor after a few days of suffering. The doctor was more concerned about my high blood pressure than my damn shoulder. (I also had high blood pressure when I went in for the poison ivy.) I also avoid doctors for the most part so shit was piling up for awhile. I hadn't had a pap or mammogram in 5 years so I made an appointment for a physical. Went to the physical...got yelled at some more for the high blood pressure and the rest of the tests showed high cholesterol so now I'm on meds for the cholesterol, blood pressure and while I was at it I also got something for the acid reflux I've been suffering from. Tomorrow is the mammogram I've been avoiding and on Friday I get to have a colonoscopy because my dad has issues with his colon and it runs in the family. I've been to the doctor more in the last couple of months than I've been in the last 10 years. Lucky for being retired military and other than the $57 I pay every three months none of this cost me a dime out of pocket.

To top off my strange year my son and I were at a stop light on Sunday coming home and some guy decided to cross the 5 lane highway. The car in the lane next to us hit the guy. (The light had just changed to green and the guy driving didn't see him bolt out from from the front of the car in front of us.) The pedestrian got hit hard and went flying up in the air. I screamed for my son to pull over and call 911 but several other people had already started calling. The guy got hit hard enough to throw his shoe 30 feet into the middle of the intersection. The guy that was hit looked to have a broken leg and some horrid road rash on his back but it could have been a lot more serious.

Well that's it for my exciting life. Probably won't update again for 3 more months.
