When I moved to Bangkok I was pleased to find an apartment right in the city center, close to the park, and close enough that I could walk to work. Now it's summer and bloody hot to walk and arrive at work looking proper. Now it's near civil war breaking out with the city center as the prime location, meaning I don't have such the urge to go explore the city as grenades are exploding at locations I've been an hour and a half previously. Today the Prime Minister has declared that the reds should all be cleared out within 48 hours, meaning very possible army attacks. The reds responded by saying they'll take off their shirts. There are helicopters circling the area which I can hear from my apartment. The reds responded with firecrackers. Thankfully the yellow shirts say they'll get involved to "restore peace" if matters aren't resolved..... ya.
The yoga studio I'd been attending is near the main district that's barricaded by the red shirts. My two month membership ran out, Songkran happened, and now I've got a wicked cold. All this equates to immense laziness. Attending also means a bit of added stress at work, trying to leave after only 9 hours of work or so. Only two more months... and then I'm a free butterfly. No more sea foam green cubicle for me! The world will be wide open again and full of new possibilities.
I accidentally took a Valium last night, thinking it was a general painkiller. It was a bit intense. Now, why do I have a packet of Valium lying around the apartment? Well, the so called "prescription" medicines are available over the counter from your local Thai pharmacy. This came in handy yesterday when I felt an ear infection coming on. I get ear infections extremely easily after having a cold. I'm a devote nose blower, none of that sniffling snuffling crap, specifically for this reason. Thankfully a two minute walk down the street and $2 later I was fixed with my medicine and able to return home for recovery. After a miserable week with the bloody cold, it's actually coming to an end. :)
