ok. so i am totally sick of people getting all "i want to be more involved" but being too lazy to actually get into it. ok. so here are a few things you can do, and it doesn't even take a whole lot of effort. some of them i am new to, but most of them i have been doing for several years.

Kids Kloset: its an organization at Immanuel Lutheran Church where the church collects money, school supplies, and nice clothes and distributes them to children who otherwise would not get a good start at school. if you are interested in this particular charity, contact me in about July. or now, so i can remind you about it in July.

coats for kids: an orginazation which collects and distributes coats, and is slowly expanding to things like backpacks etc, for the winter months, so homeless and needy children can be warm and dry, whether they are outside or not.

ONE: go to www.one.org to find out more. its really easy but it does help a lot of things go down. it also gives you ways to get more active in your general area.

world vision: ok when you're at like mcdonalds or wendy's or wal mart, and you see all those balloons with people's names on them? buy one! its not that hard! they are like a dollar and the money goes to world vision and some other charity that i can't remember. trust me, world vision does a LOT for people. a few years ago they donated some awesome shit to kids kloset and made our year a lot better, and im 100% sure that by making our year better, they made the lives of about 1000 kids better too.

salvation army: simple as this: go to the salvation army some day you have awhile, and volunteer your time. you fold clothes, organize food, sometimes, if you're qualified, you watch children. its really fun and some of the people are really enjoyable. they also do senior brunches and lunches and what not, and just being there to hang with the old people, or perform for them, or serve them, whatever really brightens up their day.

youth centers: volunteer your time at a youth center! its fun! you get to hang out with other kids! learn something new! like younglife? i personally dont have that kind of time, BUT i think it would be fun to volunteer there/

goodwill: donate your clothes and stuff you dont need anymore to goodwill.

help girl scouts/boy scouts do whatever their latest project is! its not that hard. just call me or like howie or someone. we usually know of some sort of program going on.

if you arent interested in any of the things i have listed here go on a charity search or something. go to this site: http://www.secstate.wa.gov and then go on an advanced charity search. go to some random church and do something for them! go hang out at colonial residence! not only are they old people, they are nice not scary old people. DO IT!

this is just for those of you who do not understand that wanting to do more and doing more are two totally different things!

oh! btw-if you arent afraid of needles...go to the puget sound blood center and donate a pint. if you're REALLY brave, go into the bone marrow program. it only hurts for a day or so. its really easy. the hot line number is: 1-800-398-7888. they also have a website for high school donations and its: www.psbchighschool.org. DO IT! i'm sick of being one of the only ones.
