WTF?
Will someone please explain this to me?
I work at a bookstore. My job is to sell books, memberships, answer questions, find books, and put things back where they belong. Seems logical, right?
So will someone PLEASE explain to me WHY it is so strange, abnormal, and unfavorable of me to ACTUALLY take the time to straighten the comic books so that I can put away a 2 foot tall stack of comic books? I mean, is it so hard to understand that in order to put the stack of comics up I first need to put the rest of them in some semblance of order?
And I got the same weird looks when I wanted to put other sections back in actual alphabetical order. You know, if we actually took the time to do the job properly, we would be able to find the books for the customers, unlike our current state of affairs. So why do I keep getting looks like I'm a purple alien with 16 apendages?
Arg. Why is retail so fucked up?
I really am disgusted with them. But it is a job when I can't find another one yet, and they are helping to pay my bills until I can either get a better job or get into grad school. But it sure is a letdown. I thought a bookstore would be a cooler place to work.
