Sex in the City in Providence Part II

Feb 09, 2005 00:40

So this weekend was fun. Liz, Deanna's friend from Yale, came to visit Brown and we showed her how we do it here. Basically it was a night of dinner and dancing. First we went to Paragon and had really good food. I had this lobster and shrimp ravioli that was amazing. Anyhoo, afterwards we all got dressed up and went to our favorite place in the whole world: Liquid Lounge. Liquid, aside from its subtle sketchiness, is a great place for just hanging out with friends and dancing. I like it for the latter. I danced a lot friday night...to the point where my feet hurt actually. Saturday was one of the prettiest days at Brown ever. I spent a lot of the day just outside, shopping in Providence on Thayer (I got new shoes!). Later in the day I went to the mall and DIDN'T shop for MYSELF. It was a first and I was proud. Though the mall was a bit annoying. Everywhere you go there is pink and red and though I love those colors and wear them all the time...I just can't deal with all the hearts and teddy bears that are in every store window around V-day. I just don't get this supposed 'holiday'. It gives people an excuse for demonstrations of PDA and for the rest of us its Singles Awareness Day, aka SAD. Moving on...Sunday was the Superbowl and I got some work done but mainly I found myself eating a lot. Now I'm in the middle of the week with all sorts of deadlines and applications and interviews in addition to all the work I have for classes and committments to extracurricular activities, but I'm pleased to say that all in all I'm happy with my semester so far. I like being busy all the time and I like keeping on top of things though I am still getting them done right before the deadlines. If things could just stay like this, I think I'd be alright. Though I am hoping that with this new semester and some of the newer things I'm doing I will continue to meet more people and become closer to the ones I already know.
