The Low Expectations Theory

Nov 21, 2004 14:32

This weekend was a prime example of the theory at its best. Basically when you have high expections for something or any expectations for that matter...you will be dissappointed in some way, shape, or form. And when you have no expectations for something, it will end up being relatively fun. I witnessed both extremes this weekend and now my excitement for going home is dying. First of all because I feel like its freaking taking forever and secondly because well there is no secondly. Oh well. I feel like its better this way because if I have low expectations for home it'll end up being really fun and I'll never want to leave. Or perhaps I'm abusing the low expectations theory to secretly have a good time so its not the low expecations theory at all anymore, but a twisted form of it that no longer applies to anything. I sound a bit crazy right now. Okay so this weekend I went to Boston, went clubbing in downtown and stayed for the Harvard/Yale game. On the way back I fought with the bus driver to stay on the bus despite the fact there were no seats because I didn't want to wait 2 1/2 hours for the next bus. A friend of mine happened to be on the bus as well and ended up giving me his seat. I love being a girl. :) And I love having nice friends. So then I had someone to walk back with from downtown Providence back to campus which was good cuz it was dark and I suck at knowing where the hell I'm going. When I got back I met the girls for dinner and then we went to Ben and Jerry's. Chocolate = Happy Salimah. I then got ready and we went out to some parties on campus. Its so weird to me the way Brown feels like home. Kinda scares me actually. I still miss real home. 2 days feels like an ETERNITY.
