roll out the gurney.

nb: warning: probably my most boring entry to date, it's more like reflection for me..

yes. i am back.

and now i have ivy's cell phone number so i can call her at will.

after two weeks of gürth tour we returned tired, poor, and with deep dirt tans. we ate well. i spent two hundred dollars solely on food, and came back to college park with literally one buck in my pocket - enough for a tip at plato's.
...what did i learn on tour?

THIS IS WHAT I LEARNED ON TOUR:
*very few people are still loveable after 2 weeks in a car.
*richmond deserves a second chance on my part; many people are assholes, but a few people are amazing.
*sid and nancy live. they occupy a room in greensboro, nc and go by the aliases of nate and kerry. kerry makes seven-layer dresses complete with animal-print bloomers. they steal clothes, record players, and folding tables out of the homes of people they don't like. kerry missed her plane 6 times while we stayed with them (three days), and the last time was because the airline woman wouldn't let her on the plane because she smelled bad and she thought maybe kerry's kitten was dead.
*chattanooga, tn is a shithole. the folks are nice, but they throw out their furniture because it's been over-exposed to staph infections. many people there have drinking problems and/or skin diseases. the one saving grace is a place called "cyberlan" - a gamers paradise, you even need a special code to enter the building. and the nite we were there ladies get in free! holla! oh, and they also have little gold feet on the sidewalk that show you how to do dances like "the waltz," "the shuffle," and "the impromptu."
*even at age 20 i can still pee myself in my sleep with no explanation.
*cincinnati is great: the philly of ohio.

i never wanted to come home. now i just want to go back - to richmond and athens and all the places we didn't go - and this time i want to bring bikes.

after london i don't know if i can make it back here. there's so many places i want to live in at this point ... philly, new york (sometimes), portland, maybe the bay area..?..
well, i guess there's time for everything.

i realized on the drive home from cincinnati how much great time away from dc i've spent with amazing women this summer. i've had so many intense out-of-home experiences that involved deep connections with intelligent and interesting women. i feel very privileged. and also, i hope it never ends.
