The trees and the birds think that it is spring-time today, so I do to! And after the weather we've been having this week it isn't much of a stretch. We've had the windows open almost constantly.
A quick update for those who care:
1. I switched labs as detailed in a previous post, and will be officially starting my project Today, yay! I'm going to be looking at protein expression in the brains of rats that like to drink alcohol. How cool is that?!
2. We are in the process of re-homing the ferrets, due to various circumstances, among which is the fact that I won't be getting any assistantship funds for this summer. If anyone knows of a part-time job that I might be able to get, please let me know.
3. We are fostering an UGLY dog. REALLY ugly. So sweet, but you guessed it: ugly. We've already had her for a month, with zero interest. People don't even see her at adoption day, they just glance past/over/around her and move on. Her name is "Angel".
4. Angel finally knows how to sit and to kennel up! Maybe she isn't completely as dumb as a brick.
5. We've got family functions for the next three weekends, and then the turtle trip to finish off our month of weekendless wonder. But I'm excited, it should be fun!
6. I'm considering applying for an internship at the North Carolina aquarium on Roanoke Island. Anybody been there? It's one of the only ones I could find that matches my time constraints (between spring and fall semesters) and that is paid.
