So has anyone else seen this "Save the Sea Kitten" campaign that PETA has going? I got an email that says "Check out my adorable sea kitten". I'm like, sea kitten? So, I go to the page, and it's a bunch of animated fish that actually have kitten ears and costumes on. So i'm thinking, ok, this is just some cute little thing where you make your own pet bla bla bla. NO. It's actually a PETA campaign where they're RENAMING all fish, "Sea Kittens". The tagline is "Nobody would hurt a sea kitten"
There's even a line somewhere that says "Whoever was in charge of creating a positive image for fish needs to go right back to working on the Britney Spears account and leave our scaly little friends alone." And a section of "Sea Kitten Bedtime Stories" that are actually just stories about characters like "Tara the Tuna" and "Tony the Trout" who are living happy lives until they are caught and eaten or other such "horrors". One, about Sally, seriously says she goes insane from watching her friends and family being "hooked". "Bitter and insane, she spends her days plotting revenge against the Land Kittens who live such happy lives in comfortable homes, free from the terror of being eaten."
WTF!? Really. I'm all about animal rights, but, come ON.
