Utopia/Dystopia Example- Everything Can Be Beaten (Warning: Uh, blood. xD)

Once again, I give into my silliness.

This one could be a bit of a stretch, but- hey, it works. The book is Everything Can Be Beaten, written by Jhonen Vasquez and illustrated by Crab Scrambly (who also does the artwork for Stolen Babies; hey, awesome, right? 8D).

We start off by meeting IT. IT is a little, cute-looking guy who's one purpose in life is to be locked in a room and beat kittens that come out of a chute. (I know, poor kittens, right? D8)
This is all that IT knows. It. Is. His. Entire. Life.
One day, he- wonder of wonders- notices a door.
This turns out to be sort-of good news for IT, and bad news for everybody else.
IT walks through the doorway, into a land of happiness and... well, more happiness.

This is where the utopian aspect comes in.

The land that IT enters is perfect. Everyone's happy, everything is wonderful, and all of the inhabitants love each other. They float around looking cute, cuddly, and happy, happy, happy.

Nothing goes wrong in their little world.

That is, until IT enters it. (And here's where it gets bloody, kiddies!)

Yeah, not so perfect anymore.
IT runs around, beating everything in the happy land into a bloody pulp until there's nothing else to beat.

He eventually realizes that his room with the kitten-chute is, well, *his* version of utopia.

He goes back, only to find...

Yeah, so much for his utopia.
