I thought about you only for a while,
Until the aching got so damn unbearable.
At last, I think it's time we say 'goodbye',
And let's forget the twists of this old parable.

There have been times of grief, and times of joy,
But now it's clear to me that man just doesn't change.
For every time you lied to me and - boy! -
You're always staying on the same old page.

I guess, it's fair to say that I've been wrong,
I've gotten in your way, oh, way too many times.
I never flattered you, or put you on a throne,
And fancy was the biggest of my crimes.

It takes some courage, now, to close the door...
And so I did, and walked away with confidence.
I wish you find a woman without flaw,
And may I find a man who trusts in providence.
