Well you may not agree with me Sally, but I agree with you 100%! ...it doesn't matter that the vast majority who follow that religion are caring and good and thoughtful, stuff like this totally overshadows all that... < Because we will always look at the actions of the most passionate people in a movement, the most extreme people. Otherwise, why would Islam be demonised so much in today's society by so many people? Ignorant is it may seem, it is the passionate actions of people who believe strongly enough to take action in such a subjective way that we'll sit up and listen to.
...Religion is both heritage and choice for any individual... < My point being, in posting this, to high light that I feel the choice of Islam is being taken away from these children by their Christian "principles" because in all my experience with Christians - which is considerable seeing as I was Christian for the vast majority of my life (which people seem to forget when lecturing me passionately about my equally passionate dislike of the Christian faith) - did I encounter a Christian teacher who talked to me about the other choices I had regarding religion. It always seemed like a case of 'My God or no God'...
...And as these kids are orphans, that is all they have now - their connection through their religion... < Thank you for being so articulate when I failed so miserably.
