A Little Concerned, a Lot Tired

Well, I commented on my last post about the fact that I had gone two days without a post, and I called myself a slacker!  So now it's been, what... 12 days?  Goodness, I've gotten worse!  I promise I'll try to update more in the future.:)

I guess the biggest thing going on right now involves one of my friends.  Because I'm a geek (and I say this proudly), and I hang out with other geeks, we have a weekly tabletop Dungeons and Dragons gaming session on Thursday nights.  Sort of our version of the old folks getting together for bridge, canasta, or Mah Jong.  Anyway, THIS Thursday, when our friend LeeAnna was driving herself and her daughter Lily to our house for our get-together, some numbskull rear-ended her, and wound up bumping her pretty hard.  No damage to LeeAnna's car, but Lily (who's 5) got a big bump on the back of her head, and LeeAnna wound up with some marks from where the sit belt clinched up.  The lady in the other car basically got out, told LeeAnna her name, asked quickly if she was ok, then took off.  I guess I should mention at this point that LeeAnna is SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT, so yeah, the lady shouldn't have bolted like that.  In fact, she should have called the paramedics.  LeeAnna and Lily wound up getting to our house and eating dinner, then heading to the ER to get checked out.  Lily's ok -her head's just a bit sore - but LeeAnna got a call the next day (Friday), say there had been a tear (small) in the placenta, and that she needed to stay at the hospital 24 hours for observation.  Everything SHOULD be fine - I'm crossing my fingers and toes for her - but needless to say, she and her husband are severely stressed (actually, her husband's spitting mad, as rightly he should be).  So here's hoping the doctor gives her the a-ok today and that things turn out well.

As for me - well, I've pretty much had a headache all week, and it's sucked - and I mean, sucked majorly.  I had a bunch of things I wanted to accomplish on my  "days off" - and I got nothing done because I spent most of that time in bed, wishing the pain would go away.  I mean, I've had chronic headaches for years - probably since I was about 15 or 16, so half my life - but they seem to be getting worse.  And far more frequent.  Right now I'm just taking over-the-counter medication, but I got a prescription yesterday.  I might try it out, I'm just worried about the side effects.  Guess I'll eat plenty of food before I take it, and sleep.  It's the best I can do.:)  By the way, I'm blaming this totally on the weather, which is just about as screwy as it can get.  For Pete's sake, it's 53 degrees here and rainy!  I thought this was supposed to be June...?

Anyway, peace out, folks - hope your craniums are feeling better than mine has the past few days.;)
