Mountains make me happy!
Me and Thorbjørn (aka my father, whose name isn't actually Thorbjørn although it might as well be)
Some views from the new Peak-2-Peak gondola...
...which is rather high up.

I also visited the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, which I loved. It looks like the University of Washington's cuter sister. And you know what? Students at UBC only have to pay $400CAD for life tickest to Whistler. HOLY FUCK. *grabby hands*
Oh, did I mention that UBC is surrounded by a park and is right on the ocean?
Two notes on Vancouver:
1) the buses in Vancouver apologise for being out of service. That's right. Whereas the buses in Seattle just say "Out of service", the Canadian buses say "Sorry, out of service". I am quite charmed.
2) There is a series of streets in Vancouver named after local Aboriginal tribes. To help the non-Pacific NorWester or the local yet uneducated clod, the tops of these signs have the IPA for the names written on them. So fear not, now even the non-native may pronounce "Kwakiutl" and "Skokomish". It's awesome!
Though do people need it for "Squamish" or "Yakima", I wonder? (Do you guys feel confident pronouncing those? I'm honestly curious.)
And thank you all for giving me some comfort when I was feeling like a useless hunk of oxygen-wasting flesh the other day. You're all amazing sweethearts, you know that, right? *HUGS* Between you guys and the mountains, I feel like I could conquer some mountains. So seriously, thanks. ♥
