Hi California,
Just saying hello from Iowa. It's now 9:30 AM and I threw up for the second time this morning... Threw up last night too. Ugh, I think I'm sick, because I feel very warm despite the fact that it's freezing outside. I think my body is overwhelmed by all the traveling I did and the extreme changes in temperature from going outside to inside... But, I'm not going to let it stop me from enjoying my trip in Iowa, because it's just so beautiful outside with the fresh snow! It really snowed yesterday... and I arrived here on Sunday night with no snow and despite the weatherman's pessimistic forecasts, it snowed! People continually were saying that it wouldn't snow before Christmas. But it really snowed! It was really cool to see the snow fall on green grass and leaveless trees waiting all this time for snow to cover them. It was awesome! So, of course to full appreciate the snow, Mike and I went for a walk in the falling snow yesterday and took some photographs. (Check them all out at

While we were walking, Mike told me about his ex-girlfriend, Julie, and how she spent the first few days of the holiday with Mike in Iowa, but she wanted to spend Christmas with her family, so she went home. Then she came back to spent the rest of the holidays with Mike. And then Mike told me that it never snowed once with her here. But it snowed when I've only been here for a day! So Mike told me that he believes that it's a sign from God that we'll be together forever. I couldn't be happier.
Because I was not feeling well, and because of course Mike loves me, he brought me a single red rose in a vase for me this morning while I was in bed. That was so sweet and nice to wake up to!
Well, my stomach is mad at me so I better go lie down.
Love,
Leah
