Yes! I really wanted to have that uncertain feeling come through in this. The fact that Dean is mentally ill should make him and the reader wonder at least a little if it isn't all just in his head. There is more on this later on, too.
I hadn't actually noticed that about the characters, but that's interesting. You learn all kinds of things about your own writing from the people who read it. I don't think I consciously intended to make the other characters all seem less real and fleshed out, but that is interesting that you see it that way. More interesting, I think, because it's told from the less real Dean's POV.
I have not read that, but it sounds like it might be a good book. I'll look it up sometime.
Don't worry about going on, I do that myself on the rare occasions when I find something on LJ that really gets to me. I actually find it very flattering that something of mine has done this for someone else. I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to friend your journal.
