OF THE CITY OF HATTIESBURG
AN ORDINANCE TO DESIGNATE QUIET HOURS IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI:
Section 1:
The purpose of this ordinance is to designate Quiet hours in residential areas to promote the peaceful enjoyment of property and to promote the health and safety of the general public.
Section 2:
In all residential areas of the City of Hattiesburg there is hereby designated Quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. During said hours it shall be unlawful for any person to _____ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________
Section 3:
Any person found guilty of violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both.
Effective Date - Said ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after passage.

AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE ON STREET AND OFF STREET PARKING IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI:
The purpose of this ordinance shall be to regulate on street and off street parking to keep Hattiesburg beautiful and to promote the safety and welfare of the general public.
Section 1:
It shall be unlawful for any person to park on the grass in the front yard of any single family residential structure where there is suitable on street parking available which will not impede the flow of traffic or where there is a driveway or garage located on said property.
On street parking shall be allowed in all residential neighborhoods where said parking is not inconsistent with this ordinance and where said parking has not been otherwise prohibited. On street parking shall be allowed on residential streets as follows:
On the South side of all residential streets that flow from East to West and on the East side of all residential streets that flow from North to South, including those streets that flow in a Northwestern or Northeastern direction or Southwestern or Southeastern direction.
Section 2:
This ordinance shall be enforced by the Hattiesburg Police Department.
Section 3:
Any person found guilty of violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both. If a violation is continuing, each day’s violation shall be deemed a separate offense.
Effective Date - Said ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after passage.

AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE MULTI-FAMILY USE AND OCCUPANCY OF PROPERTY ZONED FOR SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL USE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI:
Section 1:
Definitions - Family. For the purpose of this ordinance a family is defined as a single individual or a unit of two or more individuals related by blood within the sixth degree of kindred computed according to civil law or married, except that a unit of two individuals, not yet married, but living together as a couple will also be recognized as a family unit. This definition of family shall include the children born of the couple to include stepchildren.
Single Family Residence is defined as any property constructed as a single-family dwelling and zoned ________________
Section 2:
It shall be unlawful for the owner of any single family residential property to rent or lease and property zoned for single-family residential use to two (2) or more individuals that are not a family unit as defined in this ordinance.
Further, it shall be unlawful for any lessee of property zoned for single family residential use to sublet said property to two or more individuals that do not constitute a family unit as defined in this ordinance or for said lessee to acquire and move in roommates that are not related to said lessee by blood or marriage as set forth herein.
It shall be the duty of the owner of any single family residential property that is let for rent to inform the lessee in writing of the limitations of this ordinance and the penalties prescribed herein.
Section 3:
Enforcement - the Hattiesburg Police Department and Code Enforcement Officers of the City of Hattiesburg shall enforce this ordinance.
Section 4:
Any person found guilty of violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both.
