Well, part of the mystery is solved. Turns out the tongue coating was from dehydration after all. Because my kidneys are acting up. Because I now have Type II diabetes. Oh joy.
On the plus side, I got the big Kaiser bag to take everything home in, which I can use for shopping or whatnot.
Ok, so it's not much of a plus side.
