Lush UK Haul!
My packages from the UK came last night! They were waiting for me when I got home this afternoon after a night in the city.
I am super excited, though have a couple disappointments, and some musings. All the Lush glory, after the jump:
I mostly got bath products since I tend to take 3-5 baths a week. My room smells like a Lush shop right now; I'm drooling. It took 10 days from when the orders were dispatched to get to me in CT, not bad at all.
Snowglobe: I loved this grapefruity-lemony soap last year, so glad they brought it back. Its smell was overpowering the box, though, so it will be kept separately from everything else.
Dreamtime: One of my favorite scents.
Sugar Babe: So sad this is being cut, got 2 and will stock up on more. The UK ones always seem smaller compared to the NA scrubs, but it's possible I'm imagining it.
Atomic Toothy Tabs: Very heady, clove smell, can't wait to try.
Dragon's Egg: Never tried this one, disappointed because the outer shell is completely broken in pieces. Is this worth mentioning to Lush?
Skullduggery: Love the Calaveras smell.
Melting Snowman Melt: So cute! Supposed to smell like Snowcake though, and smells far from it to me. I can smell the snowcake, but something on top of it as well, like plastic or rubber or something. Hopefully it improves in the bath.
Australian Igloo Sugar Scrub: This smells really good, like menthol and fruit. I want to use this when I have a stuffed-up nose.
Candy Cane Soap: Very sweet-smelling, was hoping it would be more minty. It smells like mint-flavored taffy to me.
Rocketeer: HATE THIS SMELL. It smells exactly like these knock-off pixi stix I used to eat as a kid, they came in plastic straws instead of paper and tasted like Dimetapp. This is an overwhelming, sweet, childish smell. I was so excited to try this bomb, but I might not be able to stand it.
Golden Wonder: This is my new favorite everything. I actually got to try it last week, the manager gave us all bath bombs or bbs after the hiring event at my local Lush. The water turns a vivid sea blue with tiny paper stars swirling around. The gold lustre gives an irridescent swirl to the water for the whole bath, it's gorgeous. Inside are multi-colored mini bombs like the Boog last year. It smells like Snowshowers and is my new favorite bath product. So glad I ordered two!
Abombinaball: Also broken and crumbly, which is a bummer. Smells great, very wintry, I smell creme de menthe, coffee and vanilla.
Fair Trade Foot Lotion: About to run out, time for a fresh batch. I love this thick, minty lotion.
Stepping Stone: This wakes up my feet.
Ginger Sample: I love Ginger's sophisticated, smoky smell.
Butterball: This is definitely smaller than the American version. I know Butterball is a smaller bomb, but this just seems tiny. I tried to take a perspective shot here compared to my hand (my hand is an average-sized woman's hand but looks huge next to this tiny bomb).
Blackberry- This is also smaller than the NA version, I just used one the other day. It is also a different color, more of a lavender, but with swirls of blue, almost tie dye looking. It looks cool actually, just wondering why it's bigger and darker in the States.
Dorothy- I must always have one or two of these on hand. I love the smell, but for some reason it just doesn't smell the same to me in Figs & Leaves.
Rose Jam Bubbleroon- Smells amazing. More adult than Imogen Rose, it's a very thick and heady rose. I just unwrapped it to get a whiff and it broke in half! I was under the impression that it was stuck together with generous helpings of coconut oil but there's just the smallest dab between to two halves. I guess I'll just use the two pieces separately.
Softy- Beautiful herbal smell. Thought it would be mostly rose, but I can really smell the lavender. Can't wait to use this!
Fox in the Flowers- I've always been excited to try this but I think it smells awful. I am trying to like it but it's just too "green." I don't know if I can handle a bath in this. Anyone ever try this?
Coolaulin- Been using Veganese for the last year, almost out. I hate the smell of Veganese but it is good to my hair and I wanted to use it up. This smells pretty similar to the Coconut deodorant powder. Not as sweet as I expected it to smell, but better than Veganese.
Last but not least, I got samples of Atomic and Sparkle toothy tabs and 17 Cherry Tree Lane soap. I'm disappointed because I emailed them asking for samples of lustre, ginger lotion and 2 others (no more "notes" section on order form on new site) and I got a lovely email back saying I would get those samples plus randoms in the other order. But I didn;t get anything I asked for. However, the toothy tab samples are quite generous, there are about 15 tabs in each. Though I bought Atomic in this order so I wish they hadn't given me a sample too. Ha.
Hope you all enjoyed the Lush porn. Do you think it's worth contacting Lush about the three bombs/bbs that are broken? It's not that big a deal, it's just disappointing because both Dragon's Egg and Abombinaball are supposed to be slow-fizzing and have surprises, and now that won't be the case. Thanks, guys!
